Ecological Collapse! A Dexterity Game

A dexterity game where players take turns removing blocks, leading to an ecological imbalance.

2017 | Museum of Caballero Aguila in Cholula, Mexico.

Players remove wooden blocks representing elements of the biosphere, thereby disestablishing the environment through a dexterity game.

From the ozone layer to the deep sea and everything in between is represented in a block tower. We created 100 wood blocks representing the components of the biosphere, symbolising everything found on Earth.

The gameplay represents the human footprint: players take turns removing one block at a time from the tower, creating a progressively more unstable structure and causing ecological imbalance. The game is a remake of the classic Dexterity game, Jenga, with slightly altered gameplay.
